[VV27] CO3D and MicroCarb have arrived in French Guiana
The CO3D and MicroCarb satellites have arrived in French Guiana for their launch on board Vega-C, scheduled for 25 July from Europe’s Spaceport. Check out a photo gallery of the mission preparations.
Vega-C’s fifth flight will carry four CO3D satellites dedicated to the 3D mapping of the Earth and MicroCarb, the first European satellite designed to measure atmospheric CO₂ fluxes. Their preparation in the clean room has begun at Europe’s Spaceport. A launch at the intersection of climate science and Earth observation.
After the transfer and assembly of the various stages of the launcher – the P120, the Zefiro 40 and the Zefiro 9 – on the Vega-C launch pad, all eyes will be on the arrival and transfer of the satellites to Europe’s Spaceport’s clean rooms, where they will be subjected to rigorous tests before being integrated into the launcher.
