The Europe’s spaceport, from which the Ariane and Vega rockets lift off, is also a hotspot for Guiana's biodiversity, home to more than 700 different species.

Savannah tours are organised every month with a guide from the Office National des Forêts, to discover the natural wealth of this area.

TO BETTER PREPARE YOUR VISIT

Produced by the ONF with the participation of CNES, this brochure presents in detail the rich flora and fauna of the landscapes in which the GSC installations are located.

Through beautiful illustrations, you will learn more about the different types of savannah, their evolution over time and seasons, the history of their exploitation, and the measures taken by GSC for their conservation.

CNES also owns a number of open-access trails on its territory, showcasing French Guiana's exceptional biodiversity: the Monkey Mountain trail and the GSC leisure zone trail in Kourou, the Piste de l’Anse trail in Sinnamary, and the trails on the Iles du Salut.
