Safety of people
To address the risks and dangers that could jeopardise the safety of people, the environment and property, a number of protective measures are in place at Europe’s Spaceport.
Protecting the population during a launch
At Europe’s Spaceport, CNES guarantees the protection of people and property during launches on site and in the towns of Kourou and Sinnamary. Safety is the prime concern throughout launch preparations, and protective measures are put in place before and during every lift-off.
Combating malicious acts
A whole set of human and material resources are used to guarantee the internal and external security of Europe’s Spaceport.
Industrial risk prevention
Europe’s Spaceport is subject to regulations designed to limit the risks associated with its activities. Additional measures have been put in place to increase the protection of ecosystems both inside and outside the Spaceport.
