Ariane 6 installed on its launch pad, with its fairing
Ariane 6 has achieved a new milestone: the launcher is fully assembled for the first time and installed on its launch pad.
"Ariane 6 is now fully assembled and mated with its fairing, validating the systems required to implement it and the operational assembly sequence. This milestone marks another step towards qualifying this new launch system, eagerly awaited by the whole of Europe"
Philippe Baptiste, Chairman and CEO of CNES.
On 13 October, the upper composite of Ariane 6, designed for combined testing, joined the launcher on its launch pad at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
This 20-m high assembly with a diameter of 5.45m consists of the fairing and a structural adaptor on which a satellite mock-up is installed.
The Ariane 6 launcher dedicated to combined testing is now ready for electrical and fluid connections to its launch pad.
At the same time, the hot-fire test campaign for a complete Ariane 6 upper stage started successfully on 5 October 2022 at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) site in Lampoldshausen.
