Ariane 6 successfully launches 36 additional Amazon Leo satellites
On June 17, 2026, Arianespace successfully placed into orbit 36 satellites for Amazon Leo with an Ariane 64 equipped for the first time with four advanced solid-propellant P160C boosters.
After a launch hold was triggered just five minutes before liftoff, the most powerful version of Ariane 6 finally left the launch pad this morning at 9:21 a.m. (French Guiana time) under clear, sunny skies.
Mission VA269 successfully placed 36 satellites from Amazon’s Leo constellation into low Earth orbit at an altitude of approximately 465 km. This launch marks an important milestone for Ariane 6, with the first use of the new P160C boosters on the Ariane 64 configuration, further enhancing the launcher’s capabilities for the most demanding missions.
VA269 was the eighth flight of Ariane 6, its seventh commercial mission, and the fourth launch of 2026 from Europe’s spaceport.
