The first Ariane 6 commercial flight is scheduled for early 2025
Following the successful maiden flight of Ariane 6 and a full analysis of the data collected, ArianeGroup and Arianespace have announced that the first commercial flight of the European heavy-lift launch vehicle will take place in the first quarter of 2025.
Save the date
The second flight of Ariane 6 is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, from mid-February. Arianespace will announce the exact flight date a few weeks before launch.
Following the success of the maiden flight of Ariane 6 on 9 July, ArianeGroup, Arianespace and their partners are preparing the launch vehicle’s second flight.
It is preceded by three key stages:
- The analysis of the data from the first flight is complete. It confirms Ariane 6’s good performance, with a few minor deviations already identified and in the process of being corrected, including updating the flight software for the APU and the de-orbiting of the upper stage.
- Production of the launch vehicle is under way, with the integration of the main and upper stages in ArianeGroup's plants. They will soon be transported to French Guiana onboard the Canopée ship.
- The operational transfer of the Ariane 6 launch facilities at Europe’s Spaceport to Arianespace and ArianeGroup has been finalised, and preparations for the second flight are under way.
