Europe’s Spaceport shines in the French Space Agency Fortnite map
The French Space Agency has launched a brand new map on Fortnite featuring Europe’s Spaceport as its main backdrop. A fun immersive experience to learn about how satellite data is used to protect the environment.
The French Space Agency (CNES) will add a brand new experience to Fortnite: Amazonia: Space to the rescue. So where does this adventure begin? At Europe’s Spaceport, faithfully represented in the game, with iconic infrastructures such as ELA-4 with its mobile gantry, the launch pad, its blast deflectors, and of course Ariane 6, the new-generation European launcher, not forgetting Karouabo Creek and the Ebene Trail.
Designed to raise awareness, in the general public and young people especially, about environmental issues and the part that space plays, this mission begins just after a satellite launch. The player is tasked with verifying data collected from orbit... but must also deal with a fire raging through the Amazon rainforest!
With data from the Space for Climate Observatory, local biodiversity and satellite monitoring tools, it has everything you need to embark on an interactive adventure inspired by real-life missions at Europe’s Spaceport.
A Twitch livestream provided a sneak preview of this map on May 13. Relive this immersive experience here with Alice Thomas, content creator Maxime Potreau, and Célie Losada, Space for Climate Observatory (SCO) project manager at the French Space Agency.
