At the awards ceremony, 24 new beneficiaries were rewarded for their outstanding academic achievements, commitment and ambition.

Selected from among 460 applicants, 10 of them will receive an excellence grant to fund five years of higher education, either in French Guiana or mainland France. The 14 others will receive a study grant, which will pay for three years of higher education.

Awarded by a committee co-chaired by the French space agency and the Local Education Authority, the grants take into account applicants’ grades and social circumstances, as well as the coherence of their career plan.
