Funding and technical support from CNES help to launch or consolidate local initiatives that contribute to regional development.

Having been involved from the outset in the development of French Guiana’s economic and social fabric, CNES works in consultation with local stakeholders.

CNES provides local stakeholders with its resources and expertise in administrative, technical and scientific matters to support economic and social development and education.

The decision to create a spaceport in French Guiana in 1964 linked the history of CNES, the site’s owner and co-manager, to that of French Guiana itself.
