The European-Chinese Smile mission, initially scheduled for April 9th, is now due to launch on Tuesday 19 May 2026, at 05:52 CEST / 04:52 BST / 00:52 local time on a European Vega-C rocket.

The KOMPSAT-7 satellite, developed by the Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), has arrived at Europe’s spaceport to prepare for its upcoming launch aboard Vega-C.

As lift-off of flight VV27, scheduled to take place at Europe’s spaceport on 25 July, approaches, the public is being offered an insight into the missions carried on board the Vega-C rocket.

On 25 July 2025, at 11:03 p.m. (French Guiana time), the Vega-C launcher successfully lifted off from Europe’s spaceport, carrying on board MicroCarb and CO3D.

An update on mission VV27, which is scheduled to launch on Friday, July 25, carrying CO3D and MicroCarb on board.

As flight VV27 prepares for launch on 25 July, teams at Europe’s spaceport are putting their world-class expertise to good use looking after and preparing the MicroCarb and CO3D satellites.

The countdown is underway for VV27. MicroCarb and CO3D are completing their ground preparations.

The CO3D and MicroCarb satellites have arrived in French Guiana for their launch on board Vega-C, scheduled for 25 July from Europe’s Spaceport. Check out a photo gallery of the mission preparations.

Europe’s Spaceport is gearing up for a new launch: on 25 July 2025, at 23:03 local time. Vega-C will place CO3D satellite and MicroCarb satellite into orbit.

The launch sites include all the infrastructure needed on the ground to carry out assembly and integration operations for the various components of a launch vehicle, as well as for the launch itself.
