On April 29, 2025, Vega-C will launch Biomass satellite from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana at 6:15 a.m. local time (09:15 a.m. UTC, 11:15 a.m. CEST).

From the first Ariane L01, through Soyuz and the various versions of the Ariane and Vega families, the history of the space industry in French Guiana has been built over the course of launches and human discovery.

CNES owns other trails in addition to those located on the site of Europe’s Spaceport. It manages them alongside partners such as the French National Forests Office, to make this natural heritage accessible to everyone.

Every year, CNES and the French Guiana Local Education Authority award around thirty scholarships to students from French Guiana to help them study for a degree in French Guiana or elsewhere.

CNES is responsible for protecting the environment and elicits support from a number of partners, including the French National Forests Office and the French Biodiversity Office, to preserve and promote the natural heritage of Europe’s Spaceport.

To protect the environment of Europe's Spaceport, French Space Agency implements a policy of environmental risk prevention and ensures continuous monitoring of the impacts of its activities.

Following its successful maiden flight in July 2024, Ariane 6 completed its second mission from Europe’s spaceport on Thursday 6 March at 13:24 local time in French Guiana. Its payload, the CSO-3 satellite, was placed in sun-synchronous orbit.
